Review Total Care Diesel | BMW 530d

I am a calm driver and have a 530d 2005 218 hp. Delicious bake. I noticed a few months ago, when I really accelerated, that the engine was stalling at 3000 / 3100 rpm. I couldn't get the revs any further (not even with the kick down) and the gearbox wouldn't shift any further. Switch gears manually and press the gas again, but don't go any further. So I don't think it was the gearbox.

I had the car read out and actually nothing came out of it. The car was also driven and a comment was made that the engine remained too cool. That would probably have to do with the clogged particulate filter.

Anyway, I received a quote to replace absolutely everything related to the particulate filter, sensors, EGR, etc. Costs over €2,100.

I decided to delve deeper into the matter myself and started cleaning the engine with items from Lindemann (Curative with Total Care Diesel).

After half a tank I discovered that no regeneration had taken place yet. Through the secret menu I was able to find out that the engine temperature remained between 60 and 65 degrees. Broken thermostat.

Probably also the reason that no regeneration took place. Had a new thermostat installed, started driving, started regenerating and then no more complaints.

By the way, the mechanic where I had the thermostat replaced was able to read that the particulate filter was far from full in terms of ash. Because everything was open and loose, he could immediately see how clean the parts were — really great stuff from Lindemann.

Well, the car really drives like new again. I have had the car for over 4 years now, but it has never driven this smoothly. Every ride with a smile behind the wheel!

By the way, I now preventively add half a bottle of Diesel Boost to every refueling to keep the engine super clean. Total Care Diesel again in a few months.

I also emailed this entire story to the garage with the nice quote — no more responses.... And I had been coming there for some years.

It is now clear to me that garages will not be happy with these products.
