Engine Oil and Lubrication

Can a car sweat oil?

02-06-2021

Have you noticed that your engine is sweating oil? Then this does not always have to be a bad sign. Heavily loaded cars or motorcycles may sweat a little bit of engine oil.

An older car is more likely to suffer from oil sweating. This is quite normal, as long as it is not extreme. If the engine around the valve cover is greasy, it is probably an engine that is sweating oil. In that case, there is usually nothing serious going on immediately.

However, if so much oil is released that it remains on the ground, this is a bad sign. In that case it is real oil leakage.
